Irish Mission: Johnathan Reid - Glens of Antrim
After working with Child Evangelism Fellowship for 25 years , God called me to work in the Glens of Antrim with the Irish Mission. It is a large, remote area, stretching from Newtowncrommelin to Cushendun and round the coast to Carnlough.
I work along with the Rev George Johnston in Carnlough and Newtowncrommelin churches, which are 17 miles apart. My wife and I attend Carnlough church, travelling from home(20 miles away) where we live with our family, Joanne, a teacher, Stephen, studying, and Naomi (17), at school.
Door to door visitation is my favourite part of the work. The Lord has opened many hearts to listen, and I have had a good number of deep spiritual conversations. I also visit Residential homes, where I have made many friends. I have been able to hold two Bible Study courses explaining the Gospel.
We are also seeking to build on the children’s work already established in my days with CEF

PRAISE
1 For a blessed commissioning service in Carnlough Presbyterian. I am now, officially, an Irish Mission evangelist.
2 Lovely harvest services in Cushendall church. It was good to be able to deliver flowers afterwards to new friends.
PRAYER
1 Newtowncrommelin Campaigners starting on Monday 6th. Please pray that local children will return this year. The older groups have sufficient help now, but it would be good to have one or two more helpers for the little ones. Pray that God will open up their hearts to receive God’s Word and that through the children, there will also be contact with the parents.
2 Please pray for guidance concerning a similar outreach to the children in Carnlough.
3 For conversations to open up as I soon begin my ‘apple ministry’ again this year. A friend in Armagh provides apples to give as a gift to contacts.
4 Continue to pray that I may be able to have a Bible study in Carnlough.
5 It looks like we will be at home for most of the winter. Please continue to pray about our accommodation.
