I work in Adelaide Road Presbyterian Church in Dublin’s south inner city.
Our ministry in Adelaide Road is to bring a Christian influence to this community by serving all of the people who live here. Our belief in a holistic approach to helping people drives us to address both their physical needs and their spiritual needs.
We work for social change by helping people through Dolebusters, our unemployment resource centre and through Sunflower, our community childcare project. We work for spiritual change by introducing people to Jesus Christ because we believe that the gospel is the dynamic for all heart-change, life-change, and social-change. Change won’t happen through 'trying harder' but only through encountering the radical grace of God. We invite people interested in finding out more about Christianity to come along to our Alpha Course and we also provide a Discipleship Course for Christians who want to grow in their faith.
Presbyterians believe in mission. We believe that God’s good news should be heard. When the good news is heard, God moves. Individuals are touched. Families are impacted. Communities benefit. Society is transformed. Heaven is populated. God is pleased.
In Ireland, the Presbyterian Church is committed to holistic mission to the entire community. We seek to build healthy churches, encourage growing churches and start new churches where they don’t already exist.
